Boat History / Other Notes:
Built by the Albina Shipyards, the Confer spent all of its working life towing log barges for the Camas and Wanna paper mills on the Columbia River. The tug was taken out of service in 1999 then bought by Tidewater Tug and Barge as part of a 3-boat group purchase. Being too small for the company's purposes, Confer was scheduled to be salvaged until rescued in 2000 by Rex and Tana Hasart. Under serious restoration for the past 5 years, the work will likely continue until the boat is purchased by another unsuspecting owner.
