Isswat was built in Ketchikan, AK in 1948 as a salmon troller. She is a well-designed and constructed carvel planked vessel that has been used to fish, hunt and tow at various points in her history throughout the Pacific Northwest. About 20 years ago Isswat was re-outfitted as a tugboat and has since been a fixture in Puget Sound and on the Lake Union waterfront serving as tugboat for the Center for Wooden Boats, committee boat for various events and regattas.
