Smahalla's keel was laid in 1943. She was launched in 1944 as YT-371 and stationd at Pearl Harbor. She was mothballed in 1946 In San Diego and brought back to serve in Yokosuka Japan in 1962. She was stricken in 1978 and sold to Crowely Tugs in San Francisco where she was renamed Sea Viking. Smohalla was purchased from a private party in April, 2010 as the Sea Viking. Her name has been changed to her former name of Smohalla with a port of call of Pearl Harbor.
